Dr. James Edward Kent is a Native-Texan, born in Amarillo and raised in Texas. He is the son of a  former school superintendent and decided early on to commit his life to medicine He graduated from  Rankin High School 1996 and was very active in both academics and sports. He is newly married to  Geneva Kent, a Maternity Nurse at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. After graduating with honors from Rankin, he began college by attending Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in 2001. During his time at A&M, he was a very active in church, student  government, and intramural sports. After graduating from A&M, he attended The University of Texas  Health Science Center at San Antonio to work on a Masters degree in Biomedical Science. There at the  UT Health Science Center he enrolled in the same courses with the medical students and worked in a colon cancer research lab.At the time of his enrollment, The UT Health Science Center’s Anatomy Department was ranked 4th  overall for medical schools in the United States under Harvard medical school, University of California  at San Francisco medical school, and Johns Hopkins medical school.While at the health science center he became interested in podiatric medicine. During his last year at UT, he met a nationally known orthopedic surgeon who told him about podiatric medicine. By the end of the 2003 spring semester he finished his thesis and graduated with a master’s degree.During this time he was accepted at Des Moines University Medical School in Des Moines, Iowa. After his graduation in 2007, James was accepted to Lourdes Hospital, New York for a three year residency program and graduated in June, 2010.James enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and golf. His hobbies include woodworking, weight lifting, and construction work. He is an active member of the Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler.

Magen Starks - Office Manager/Billing Manager

Magen joined our team in October 2011.  She is the director in charge of all daily operations for our facility and is also in charge of our Billing department.  Magen is certified in Podiatric Radiology as well as Medical Billing and Coding.  Not only is Magen our office manager, but she is also a helping hand where the team needs it most at any given moment.  You may find her replacing a bandage, taking out sutures, or even shooting your x-ray. Magen is a 2006 graduate of Winona High School.  She is married and the proud parent of a 7 year-old little boy; she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves the outdoors.  Magen is here to help you, our patient, in any way possible.

Kati Weems – Surgical Services Coordinator/Patient Care Coordinator

Kati WeemsKati joined our team in August 2012. She is one of our assistants in charge of your overall visit which entails everything from your first encounter at check-in to your coordination of continued healthcare within our facility.  She is certified in Podiatric Radiology.  Kati is also your surgery scheduler and benefits coordinator and will be with you every step of the way from Pre-Op to Post-Op. Kati is a 2008 graduate of Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, TX (Go Tribe!).  She is happily married, the proud new mom of a baby girl, loves to spend time with her little dog, Max, enjoys camping, being outdoors, and most of all loves to make memories with her family and friends.  Kati strives to lend a helping hand to every patient and is here to serve you in anyway necessary.

Geneva B. Kent, MSN,RNC-MNN

Geneva B. Kent, MSN,RNC-MNNGeneva Kent is happy to join East Texas Foot and Ankle Centers part time.  Geneva is a graduate of Covenant School of Nursing in Lubbock, Texas.  She began her career as a nurse at Covenant Medical Center working in the High Risk Antepartum unit.  She continued her education at Lubbock Christian University earning her Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing and Master Degree of Science with an emphasis in Nursing Leadership and Education in 2007.  Geneva has been employed by Texas Health Resources since 2002 and is currently working at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital as a certified Maternal Newborn Nurse maintaining a Nursing Career Advancement Program (NCAP) Level IV. Geneva joined East Texas Foot and Ankle Centers after she married Dr. Kent on June 14, 2014.  Although podiatry is a new adventure, she is excited to learn this new area of expertise, and has obtained her certification as a Podiatric Radiology Technician.
