Up to age 50, adults should strive to intake 1,000 milligrams of calcium and 200 international units (IUs) of calcium each day. After age 50, this should increase to 1,200 milligrams and 400 to 600 IUs respectively. Stay active...

Keep your weight at a manageable level by eating properly and working regular exercise into your daily routine. Find something you enjoy doing - biking, walking and swimming are all great ways for people of all ages to increase their activity.

Repetitive, high-impact sports, like tennis, basketball or gymnastics, can put a lot of stress on joints and muscles, leading to problems such as sprains, fractures and in some cases, bone spurs. Don't overdo it with these activities - alternate them with lower impact sports to give your body a rest.
